I have heaps of experience in a range of work, including content design and plain language/English, strategy, market research, media wrangling, website content, and more.

Additionally, I:

  • founded the first Southern Hemisphere nerd nite chapter, nerd nite Wellington, over four years ago. Held every two months, it regularly pulls in crowds of ~100 people, and acted as the seed for the Auckland chapter.
  • was a GovHack Wellington founding committee member (2015), and am part of the core national committee for GovHack NZ in 2016.
  • was a TEDxWellington speaker curator (2015).
  • have been written about in publications like Idealog, NZ Entrepreneurs and CAPITAL, and been interviewed on Radio New Zealand.
  • have been, or am part of, the Future Agenda, NZTA Future Demand, and WEC/BEC2050 futurecasting projects.
  • co-founded and adminned Australasia's largest science blogging network, Sciblogs.
  • placed second , with my team, at NZ's first (and the world's second!) Social Enterprise Startup Weekend in Wellington in August 2013 - I gave the pitch.
  •  drove the notoriously long and insane Mongol Rally as sole driver (partner navigated).
  • was named in the original Periodic Table of Kiwi Twitterers.
  • was a co-producer on Cozydark.com, giving me access to 118k astronomy geeks.
  • was nominated for one of the prestigious Research Blogging Awards in 2010 on the strenth of my writing. The category in which I was nominated was 'best blog – chemistry, physics or astronomy'.
  • was one of the original Retake.the.net people.
  • survived living in Johannesburg for 20+ years :P
